The South Bend Audubon Society was formed in February of 1944. Over the years our organization has grown, but our mission has remained the same.
The mission of the South Bend-Elkhart Bird Alliance is to promote stewardship of our natural resources with a special emphasis on birds. We achieve this goal through education, conservation, philanthropy and fellowship with others having similar goals.
For our 75th anniversary we produced a comprehensive history of the South Bend-Elkhart Audubon Society. You may view a PDF of this booklet here.
In 2024 we changed our name to the South Bend - Elkhart Bird Alliance to more closely reflect our mission of bird conservation.
